a poem written in 2008
Untitled- - - -
We can't not be connected
what we are is veined
each other courses through
none of us is alone
none of us separate
we are connected by filaments
the terror the venom plaguing your mind
surges throughout, and courses
through the veins of our lives, pulsing
straight through our hearts
You ache,
but not alone as your perceive
We ache
with you-
You,
our brother, our father, our son
We are holding onto you
hold on to us
Our understanding is like broken
seashells scattered along the thigh of the shore
Our hands small
Yet you are in our veins
we cannot forget you
we cannot forget ourselves
