Addiction's Anthem

Addictions
We surround ourselves with you
Grasping here, grasping there for the latest
the newest,
You make us feel safe
When quietus and stillness breed a reverbrating chaos
You fence us in, a warm barrier
Like sucking thumbs, like holding ourselves to ourselves
in a way that returns us to the center of the womb,
where there are walls that shield and incubate,
We wait for forgiving ink to spill into the white
page of a some new beginning
Addictions
Bring us home
